City of Brass (Level 1)Edit

This is the area you start in, lots of rats, beggars and lepers to kill to get you started. The Centre Of Town (the room you first spawn in) is commonly referred to as CoT, and the general bazaar area is often simply denoted by players as "around cot". The Bazaar of Baghdad also contains the various guilds for each of the classes, where they can practice the spells and skills given by leveling in their class. As well as various shops that provide essentials such as food, water containers, bags and torches. CoT is also a general gathering ground for players, and players who are simply standing around chatting are often found there.

The Plains (1)Edit

This area if found North of The City of Brass at the end of the white way. This is a small zone, but there is a lot of easy experience to be gained here for players still in the single digit levels. Players should have little trouble against most of the mobs found here. A few towards the northern end of the zone are higher level so beware. You may encounter the repentant paladin, one of the the first mana gem carriers.

Most players spend their first few levels racing through this zone, but the osai vultures may teach you an important lesson.

The Forest (Level 1)Edit

If you follow the Green Grove out of the City of Brass to the North-East you will encounter The Forest. As you might expect you will find a number of people and creatures attuned to life in wooded surrounds. There are elves, druids, and a hunter, but this is also the home of a band of rogues who like to fight together, so take care.

While most of the mobs are quite low level, you need to be sure as to the relative strength of each intended enemy. The exiled druid moves around but he is a mana gem carrier.

If you're a hunter or a druid, it's worth noting that in a forest room, your health, mana and movement will all regenerate at twice the normal rate. There is also a room where everyone gets double regeneration, if they can find it.

The Harbour (Level 1)Edit

Follow Blue Boulevard North-East from the fountain in the City of Brass and you come to The Harbour. Long golden beachs stretch before to the North and South with the harbour proper being at the Southern end of the area. Here you will encounter sailors and some harbour guards among others. If somebody or something doesn't let you by, you may have to throw your weight around. Be careful of the crabs scuttling along the beach. You may also bump into the prodigal sorcerer, the resident mana gem carrier.

The Swamp (Level 1)Edit

Full of evil, The Swamp is home to many nasties, such as bog imps, skeletons, wraithes and zombies. To find it, follow Black Beat South-East from cot. Truth be told most of these guys are easy experience, even though the skeletons regenerate and you need to kill them twice. In the southern part of this area, around the tomb, there are a number of creatures of significantly higher level then the rest, but don't worry, you aren't likely to be able to attack them at low levels. You'll be back to kill them at a later time, and they are valueable experience. Although the headless horseman carries a mana gem you can't gain the mana until you're at least level 10, so don't worry if you can't attack him while still on single digit levels.

The Mountains (Level 1)Edit

Follow the track after leaving the City of Brass from the South West corner of the Red Road. Home to a dwarven barracks and an encampment of goblins, these two races are found all around this area. While they do not like each other, they do not openly fight amongst themselves. They are each in abundance, and in general the goblins are easier to kill and therefore good experience at very low levels, and then the dwarves come into their own. The goblin shaman is the mana gem creature here, but this lady's killed more than a few brave adventurers so take care.

One of the best low level weapons (for normal sized players) can be found in the dwarven barracks.

Tag Arena I & Tag Arena II (Level 1)Edit

The two Tag Arenas are special areas which can't be accessed in normal gameplay. They are used only for Tag Quests. If there is an Elder online, and there are sufficient other players, then the Elder may run a tag quest and summon those wishing to partake directly to these areas.

The Ocean (Level 10)Edit

This area is situated to the East of the beach in 'The Harbour' and off the pier. The Ocean is the wet stuff you encounter. Unless you have water-walk or flying you're going to need some sort of boat to navigate this area. You can get one of these in the City of Brass.

On the ocean and below the surface you'll find quite a variety of marine creatures. If you do risk diving beneath the surface take care not to drown. It's best to 'look down' before unnecessarily diving in. You can make some fairly decent xp in here, and admire the beautiful dolphins. They're delicious!

The Fort (Level 10)Edit

This is where most players go once they're comfortable with their combat skills and have progressed into the low teens. The Fort is found at the North-East corner of 'The Plains'. The fort is well populated by generally good aligned humans. You'll encounter some mobs with abilities such as track and assist so you'll get a chance to test yourself.

This is probably the first area where normal sized players can start finding improved armour and a couple of decent weapons and improve their overall ability. There are plenty of potential targets, and if there are one or two other players around your level, this is a good area to practice grouping.

Kher Keep (Level 10)Edit

To find Kher Keep you venture South from the goblin camp in 'The Mountain'. This is a large, sprawling zone and there are creatures to kill over a wide range of levels, and most of these are either neutral or evil aligned. The lower level enemeies are towards the North end of the zone, and generally the farther South you venture the higher level your potential opponent's are.

It's very easy to get lost in this area, so if your mud client supports mapping, it is probably a good area to use it. Of course if you're totally lost, remember that so long as you are level 15 or lower you can always 'recall' to the fountain at the City of Brass. If you do want to explore widely here, make you bring plenty of food and water.

The Sliver Catacombs (Level 10)Edit

The entrance to The Sliver Catacombs is located at the bottom of a crypt deep within 'The Forest'. As the name suggests, the creatures you encounter in this area are mostly slivers, most are reasonably easy to kill, but it's worth using the 'consider' command before attacking just to be sure. You might need to bring a boat of some kind if you don't have waterwalk or flying.

If you haven't done much in the way of area quests to this point, this is a good example of one. Various slivers give you clues if you happen to be in the right room at the time. Listen to what they may say, and keep track of who says what and the quest is fairly straightforward. This is not to say the quest reward is necessarily of much use to all players, but it's good practice.

Havenwood (Level 10)Edit

To find Havenwood you need to go into the gap you see as you reach the end of Green Grove. Havenwood has two parts. There is the ancient battlefield which is populated by various thallids. These are living, moving fungi and you need to take care when attacking them.

West of the battlefield is an Elven fortress, populated by elves of many professions, and with differening alignment. There are a lot of hidden doors so don't rely solely on the directions available on the room descriptions.

Havenwood has three quests within the area, two of which give items which you may be using even at and beyond level 50. It's well worth taking note of any clues you may hear while you explore.

Ebon Stronghold (Level 10)Edit

The Ebon Strongold is located past some grave sites on the northern end of 'The Swamp'. This area is largely populated by various thrulls, a race of remade dead with various appendages added by their creators, the Ebon Hand, for who know's what diabolical purpose.

While most thrulls have a lot of hitpoints, they generally don't hit back very hard. These are excellent candidates to test any combat spells you may have learned and compare the relative times it takes to kill them using spells or simply using your weapon. Definately a place worth testing various combat strategies.

Ebon Stronghol has a small areas within that are higher than level 10, but you shouldn't be able to accidentally enter these at lowish levels. And aren't the bunnies you may meet just the cutest things you've come across on the mud to this point...

Magnetic Mountain (Level 20)Edit

In the middle of a desert stands the towering Magnetic Mountain, home to Aladdin, Ali Baba and other Arabian characters. Any chaos mages looking to tap red mana will want to frequent this area. To find it you need to enter the wagon parked along the Red Road in the City of Brass.

Most of the inhabitants of this area are evilly aligned and like to fight together. Take care against the hurr jackals and desert nomands as while one may be an easy kill, fighting two or three at the same time is a different experience. Many players in the mid-20's levels find this an excellent area for experience and there are a couple of decent quests.

City of Shadows (Level 25)Edit

The City of Shadows is not an area for the faint-hearted but there are several evil aligned mobs that are relatively easy experience. There are two entrances to this area, both from The Swamp. One is to go North from the two bog wraithes, and the other to go West through a hidden door from the end of the well ridden path.

When you first visit this area the black knights, hypnotic spectres and plague rats are the mobs to target. The warriors and shades are higher level but worth the experience later. There are lots of locked doors but the keys aren't hard to find. This area is packed with good equipment and the rewards of the quests are worth the trouble.

Just be careful where you sleep...

An Havva (Level 25)Edit

A very popular area for quick experience when players reach levels in the late 20s and well into the 30s, An Havva can be found beyond the far north section of the Elven fortress within 'Havenwood Battleground' . The human inhabitants tend to be good aligned, and the folk of an Havva particularly good experience as there are a lot of them. They can hit quite hard though, so if you have the ability to get their weapons off them first, then it's advisable to do so.

Within the woods can be found a small population of faeries, and this is probably the first area where a tiny character can significantly improve their equipment. Some faeries are harder than others naturally.

Because of the relative abundance of mobs with equipment this is a good area to plunder if you need to boost your gold reserves.

Two characters, they being Chandler and a faerie noble carry mana gems.

Koskun Keep (Level 25)Edit

Koskum Keep can be found by following the Ladie's Path through 'An Havva'. Koskun Keep is home to a band of goblins, and as such most of the occupant's are evil aligned. You won't find many mirrors in the keep because these aren't an attractive bunch, except for the maids of course. Mixed in with the goblin houeshold are a few thieves, and they don't go down without a fight.

Away from the main keep however you will encounter a stronghold of minotaurs. Just as faeries are a good sourch of small equipment, minotaurs use huge equipment. You may find the minotaurs too tough at level 25, but if you come back at around level 50 or so you should find you can greatly increase your armour if you too are a minotaur or other huge race.

Chaos mages will often want to visit Koskun Keep, because this is where they will find the rocks they need for their main damaging spells.

Serra's Realm (Level 25)Edit

At the top of the tower in the Fort and through the gateway you will find Serra's Realm. Primarily a palace for angels and their retainers, there is a sense of divine sanctity and goodness about the place, until you come in hacking all and sundry into a bloody mess.

Any hunters will come here often to replenish their stock of arrows, and along with any druids may also enjoy the forest room to be found here for quick regeneration.

Despite the overall goodness of the place, at the Eastern end of the area, are the evil brethren, the Priests of Gix. Nasty pieces of work, but easy to kill for quick experience. Try to avoid the Eviscerator who's name speaks for itself. He wields a claw that will poison you on its first hit.
